About Earth Day RICHMOND
Richmond Earth Day Festival is a FREE, day long celebration that provides resources, education, and information in a fun filled outdoor setting to help our community incorporate eco-friendly practices, products, and services in their homes and everyday routines; as we strive to make Richmond a “greener” city. This year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Streets at Hull Street in the New Manchester District will be blocked off and filled with vendors, artists, farmers, and fun activities for all ages. Join the fun, riverside, at the James River Fish Fest or kick back and enjoy live music performances from local bands: Rattlemouth, Exebelle & the Rusted Cavalcade, Amazing Ghost, Black Girls, Horsehead, and more.
There will be no shortage of delicious local eats and drinks for you to try as well; so come celebrate, learn about our environment, and spend the day outside.
Special thanks to our community partners: Backyard Farmer, Art Works, City of Richmond, Clean City Commission, Greener Results, HandsOn, Rockitz, Release the Hounds, and Save the Trash.

To all of the planning committee:
My sincerest thanks and congratulations for all of the efforts. Most pleased to see this event continue after an amazing 20 years. I was a founding committee member and was the one who creating the acronym G.R.E.A.T.
Gov. Wilder spoke at the first event and I presented him with an Earth Flag (http://www.earthflag.net/). It was amazing how we grew from just a small event planned for Maymont to a media event in just a couple of months.
With more interest and the renovations, it was moved to Belle Isle. The Indigo Girls were one of the bands that played that year.
Work and school brought me to Raleigh and limited my time. 18 years here and nothing even matches the smallest events in Richmond.
Again, congratulations!!

I will be there, taking photos and writing a story for James River News Hub, volunteering for the JROC Gear Swap and trying to learn more about being GREEN in RVA.
